Thinking Critically: Extra Credit

Okay, if you're a student in my Critical Thinking class (Spring, 2011 at Mendocino College) here's your first HECQ (hidden extra credit question). If you've found this HECQ, you get 5 extra credit points toward your daily work grade. Here's how: turn in the URL and the date of the post on the bottom of your daily writing assignment, along with the name of one of the Media Resource links listed on this site. That's three pieces of information.

If you add to that the correct answer to this brain teaser, your work erases points lost for 1 unexcused absence.

Have at it: Give me a written answer, turned in during class with your name on it.

The Cat Burglar Strikes:

A valuable relic was stolen from the Equivocator's Guild. Investigators are having difficulty identifying the robber because every statement made by a member of the Equivocator's Guild is dishonest. Only four members visited the Guild the day the relic was taken. This is what they told the authorities:

Judith: None of us took the relic. It was here when I left.
John: I arrived second. The relic was already gone.
Charlie: I was the third to arrive. The relic was still here when I walked in.
Taylor: Whoever stole the relic arrived before me—it was already gone when I walked in.

Who of these four eqivicators stole the relic?
